Make your own homemade piñata!
Our themed piñatas are always a HIT at our pamper parties…Get it?
Here’s how you can make your own.
An easy – non messy way to make a piñata is to make a base structure with custom-cut pieces of cardboard that you tape or glue together.
Or, now that we have the time, the traditional method is to use paper mache.
Paper Mache batter ingredients:
• 2 cups (473 ml) of water
• 2 cups (473 g) of flour
• 1 tablespoon of salt
Don’t worry if your batter has lumps. Always tear your newspaper into strips instead of cutting them. The torn paper lays better on a paper mache creation. Make sure the paper mache is completely dry before you paint and decorate it.
Remember to leave a hole in the structure to fill your piñata with sweeties!
Now it’s time to decorate! Cut or tear strips of colourful tissue paper and glue it onto the pinata. Leave the paper in strips and glue on.
Have fun and enjoy! Please don’t forget to show us your piñata creations!
